Question for the Company and the Poster
Seven years ago, the company found him unsuitable for the job, resulting in termination. A pertinent question is what he has done since then to improve his employability. The poster should have a positive answer to this. Performance is a relative aspect of employment, easily influenced by many factors. One need not always be an underperformer. Experience in different situations elsewhere and sincere efforts toward self-improvement may make a person more employable again, even in an organization from which they were previously let go due to poor performance.
