Employee who is in notice period is behaving violently - can we give a warning letter and terminate him?

An employee who is in notice period as he gave resignation is behaving violently, we want to terminate him on disciplinary reason due to his violent behavior in office, we have asked him to finish his pending work peacefully and get relieved... but he is behaving violently... can we give a warning letter and terminate him, what is the procedure for termination and salary payment?
