How Do Ex-TCS Employees Navigate Strict Employment Verification Processes?

Hi all, please help. I am an ex-TCSer with 7 years of experience in TCS. I left TCS a few years ago, and whenever I switched jobs, my employers called my reference contact numbers provided by me for a background check. Recently, I received an offer from a financial company that has very strict background check requirements. Though I gave them my last TCS Manager's contact info, they didn't call him and are going to verify my TCS employment using some other way. I am not sure how.

So I just wanted to know, does TCS provide any way for ex-employees to be verified? If that company calls the corporate number, will they even respond and provide my details? I just wanted to know what the process is, in case any of you have gone through the same.
