Frustrated with HR Miscommunication: How Should I Handle This Hiring Mix-Up?

Suresh gh
Hi All,

I gave a written test for a company in November and an interview in December 2021. I have followed up with the HR who scheduled the interview. I received a reply stating that I had received positive feedback and that HR would contact me regarding my candidature status. After that, I didn't hear back from anyone for almost a month, despite following up with the main HR multiple times. I haven't received any response for many days. Somehow, I got the mobile number of the concerned HR and contacted her as per her said date and time.

She told me that I hadn't cleared the interview; by mistake, my colleague sent the email like that. I asked her why there was no response after multiple follow-ups. She said there was another candidate named Suresh G, which caused the error. After that, she mentioned that I had cleared the associate level interview, not for the senior level. One of my colleagues didn't submit the written test properly, yet he received a call for an interview. I need justice here. I have cleared the written test and answered all the questions that were asked in the interview. I am 100% sure that HR is doing an injustice to my ability and providing false information. It's been a month since completion, and I'm awaiting the offer. Kindly advise on how to deal with this kind of situation.

Company's Decision on Employment Offers

It is the decision of the company whether they give you an offer of employment or not. You cannot force the company to give you a job, even if you feel it was an unfair move by someone.

Steps to Take if You Feel Discriminated Against

If you really feel you were discriminated against, you can send an email to the HR Head or the CEO, but I doubt if you will get much of a response. Some large companies have a grievance forum; you can try that.

Other than that, go and look for another job.
