Hi, I have worked for multiple organizations, and while switching from one of my previous positions, I removed the experience from my very first company before joining the new organization as I had no proper supporting documents for it. When I switched jobs, I was unsure of what feedback my previous company manager/HR had given to my new organization. I started facing bullying in the new organization, with people making comments like "he is a fraudster," etc.
I had removed one of my previous job experiences, and despite the negative comments, I continued to work sincerely as I needed to survive and lead my life. However, in my next organization, when I considered changing jobs, my manager hinted that they would isolate me to the extent that I would have no one to seek help from.
Can anyone remove one of their experiences before changing jobs?
Sometimes, a high level of experience may not help in securing a job, prompting individuals to omit one or two years of experience to align with the job requirements or level of expertise.
Concerns about background checks
My current company emphasizes that employees should not hide or misrepresent any information. If they discover, through a background check, that I omitted one of my previous job experiences, could it lead to any issues?
Rights to disclose or hide previous experiences
Do employees not have the right to show or hide previous experiences for various reasons, such as not disclosing information due to concerns about receiving a negative review from a past manager, lack of supporting documents, or the closure of a company?
Potential issues with altering experience history
If a previous employer informs a new organization that I had, for example, 7 years of experience when I joined them, and later, I remove the experience from my very first company, making me appear as a 7-year experienced professional again, could this create problems?
Rights and consequences of sharing past experiences
Should I have to endure lifelong consequences because a past organization shared my pre-joining experience with a new employer? Do we not have the right to choose whether to represent or not represent certain information? Why do companies require all experiences to be mentioned? Is this not a violation of an individual's right to express or not express details about their previous experiences?
Thanks in advance.
