Date of Birth Mismatch on Aadhar Card: How Can We Help an Employee Get His Pension?

Issue with Date of Birth Correction on Aadhar Card

An employee has corrected his date of birth on his Aadhar card once, changing it from the actual date of birth of March 1963 to September 1963. We identified this discrepancy and informed him accordingly, ensuring that he retired in March 2021 as scheduled.

However, as he has already updated his date of birth on the Aadhar card once, he is now unable to make a second correction. His Aadhar card is linked to his UAN number in the PF account, and the mismatch in the date of birth is preventing him from receiving his pension.

Possible Solutions for Pension Disbursement

Is there any possible way to rectify the date of birth on the Aadhar card a second time? Alternatively, are there any other methods available to facilitate his pension disbursement from the PF account? Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Colleague, The date of birth is updated once and again the employee wants to change the DOB. For this, the Aadhar portal briefs the steps:

1. He can update the Date of Birth (DoB) in your Aadhaar only once. In case he has a genuine need to update the DoB again, you have to follow an exception process as given below:

Visit any Aadhaar Kendra with a valid Date of Birth (DoB) Proof in your name as per this list: https://uidai.gov.in/images/commdoc/...ments_list.pdf

2. If this request gets rejected, call 1947 or write to [Email Removed For Privacy Reasons] and request for 'exception update' by sharing your latest Update Request Number and contact details.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, in its notification dated January 4, 2017, has made it mandatory to furnish the proof of Aadhaar number to avail pension and other benefits for its existing members and pensioners under the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995. Hence, if the member is still struggling, then it is advisable to approach the EPFO Office directly with all documents and meet the Asst PF Commissioner Accounts for necessary support. The employer/representative can also accompany and sort out by discussion and briefing/submitting necessary documents.
