Form No.1 - Factory Approval Plan Process

• No site shall be used for the location of a factory, nor shall any building in a factory be constructed, reconstructed, extended, or used as a factory or part of a factory unless prior written permission is obtained from the Administrator or the Chief Inspector of Factories.

• Application for such permission or submission of plans shall be made in Form No.1 in triplicate. It shall be accompanied by the following documents:

Factory Plan Details

1. A flow chart of the manufacturing process, including a description of the chemicals used, if any.
2. The process and the steps proposed to be taken for the effective removal of trade/production wastes, along with a certificate from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board confirming proper arrangements for the disposal of wastes.
3. The site of the factory and its immediate surroundings.
4. After examination of the documents referred to in sub-rule (2), the Chief Inspector or Deputy Chief Inspector shall sign, and one copy shall be returned to the applicant.
