Is It Mandatory to Enroll Employees in PF if Their Basic Pay Exceeds 15,000?

If an employee's basic pay is more than 15,000/- and he is not enrolled in PF previously, is it mandatory for the employer to enroll that employee in PF?

No, it is not a statutory obligation for the employer to cover any employee who was not a PF member previously and is also drawing more than a 15K salary. It is discretionary in this case.

However, if the employee was a member in the previous company and was a PF member, then the employee must be covered now.
