If an employee fails to submit the certificates during the joining and later declares that he/ she has not completed the graduation. How does an employer react to it? After the confrontation, the employee declares that out of fear of losing the job he had kept the facts hidden.

Dear Colleague,
This is commonly happening in the Industry where unless, the organization has a robust system of document verification process it can not be prevented. The Organization has to check the critical factors by reference check, checking of certificates on the day 1 etc may be of use. Later even if it is missed out, if you have a sound Background Verification Process, then it will come out in the report.

These types of challenges has 2 Issues :

1. If the said qualification is relied upon for the Role and Position and decision of selection was done based on the qualification and also it is a must to deliver the job then it is to be viewed seriously

2. Ethically, if such talents hide their basic details then what type of integrity we can expect from such talents

In such cases, normally the Industry is advising such talent to leave on their own by resignation and relive then from services. This is appropriate and we can not compromise the system of trust in this. If some on refuse to leave, then document the lapse the organization may proceed to terminate on the ground that " False information furnished in the Selection Process and failed to submit the Graduation Certificate"

Similar cases happening that some employees submit fake certificates, forged documents also which we need to find out through BVG Process and it should be done so meticulous to have right talents in the organization.

The said talent may be given due counselling not to repeat such instances. Smooth exit process is the right one.

In agreement to what Dr. Sivakumar has said, just a suggestion to ask for a colour scanned copies of all the documents from any candidate who is selected to join your organization, but before joining, may be additionally helpful to avoid such hiring.
