Dear Colleague,
The most difficult and challenging part in HR, as far as my experience goes in the last three decades, is Talent Acquisition and Industrial Relations. Initially, I saw it as a problem like you, but later, I tuned myself to see it as a challenge and looked at it very positively.
In Talent Acquisition, it depends on the Brand Value of the Employer, Competitive CTC, Growth Opportunities, Meaning in Job Role, Work-Life Balance, and the type of market news about the company, among many other factors that the TA Lead has to face and overcome. Within this structure of challenges, one has to perform the following steps: Attract CVs, Bring them for Screening, Conduct Interviews, Issue Offers, and successfully Onboard. Each Talent Acquisition process is like how a mother gives birth to a child... that painful. Unless we have aggressive TA Consultants working for us, the factors about the Organization/Employer mentioned above create a tough environment everywhere, and similar challenges are experienced by many TA Leads in different organizations. It is not a time-bound job but a 24x7 focus job where a lot of background work is constantly needed, and every successful onboarding is a significant effort for the TA lead, all within the given TAT of TA.
However, it is not a big deal to overcome, and slowly we need to strengthen the Talent Acquisition process with clear focus points like good TA Consulting Partners to work with us, how we communicate about our organization, what CTC we offer, what growth possibilities are available, and many other factors that need to be strengthened. Eventually, the job will become an art and feel as simple as having a cup of coffee in your later career.
The moment you embrace the challenge, you will develop your style of TA and become successful. It took me ten years to master TA, but with your vigor and enthusiasm, you can achieve it much sooner.
All the Best, God Bless,
