Dear Shripad,
Other than casual leave, any leave with a longer and continuous stretch of duration such as EL, Maternity Leave OR Medical Leave does not take into account the intervening weekly holidays or other paid holidays and such days automatically get merged with the total no of days of such leave. However, any holiday immediately preceding or immediately following the leave can be fixed as prefix or suffix as the case may be.
