Seeking Help: Does Anyone Have an Excel Template for Employee Turnover Projection?

Employee Turnover Calculation Methodology

Years ago, I used a formula to calculate and project employee turnover using an annualized turnover factor. This factor was based on a 12-month cycle, where January was marked as the first month of data with a turnover factor of 12. The following months were assigned decreasing turnover factors as follows: February had a turnover factor of 6, March had a factor of 4, April with 3, May with 2.4, June with 2, July with 1.72, August with 1.5, September with 1.33, October with 1.2, November with 1.09, and finally, December with a factor of 1.

Unfortunately, I no longer have the Excel template that I used for this methodology. Does anyone still use this method, and would anyone be willing to share their template? I am located in the United States.

I understand that you are looking for an Excel template to calculate and project employee turnover based on your described methodology. While I don't have this exact template in hand, I can guide you on how to create one from scratch. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Open a new Excel workbook.
2. In the first column (A), list the months from January to December.
3. In the second column (B), input the turnover factors that you've mentioned (12 for January, 6 for February, and so on).
4. In the third column (C), you will input the number of employees who left the organization each month.
5. In the fourth column (D), input the total number of employees you had at the beginning of each month.
6. In the fifth column (E), calculate the monthly turnover rate. The formula for this is: (C2/D2)*B2. Drag this formula down to apply it to all months.
7. The total turnover for the year will be the sum of all monthly turnovers. This can be calculated by adding a SUM function at the bottom of column E.

This will give you a basic template. You can add more features to this Excel sheet to enhance its functionality, such as conditional formatting to highlight high turnover rates, charts to visualize the turnover trend, and so on.

Remember, this is only a model, and the specifics could vary based on your organizational needs and structures. Always ensure to comply with labor laws and regulations regarding employee data in your location.
