PF Withdrawal Process When No Nominee Is Registered: How to Handle After a Death?

Sagar.mhashilkar@1993@gmail.com
Hi, please help with PF withdrawal in the case of a person who has passed away.

Scenario Details

1) The IP has not registered a nominee in PF.
2) The company has marked an exit date due to death.
3) UAN is locked.

In the above-mentioned scenario, could you please confirm how to proceed with PF withdrawal manually or otherwise?

EPF Claim Process for Deceased Members

Under the EPF, it is not IP but a Member (IP term is for ESIC). The spouse or nominee has to visit the EPF office with UAN, account details, and death certificate. The EPF office will check their records for Form 2 (Nomination) (if submitted manually in the past year) and then hand over the requisite forms to make a claim, with a detailed process.

In the absence of any nomination, they will ask to get Form 2 verified by the employer with indemnity bonds as per their prescribed format.
