Concerned About Leaving Early: Will I Get an Experience Letter if I Break My 24-Month Commitment?

teja-a
I have some gaps in my career owing to my banking exam preparation. I recently joined a new software company in Chennai. Interviews and discussions went smoothly, but when I went to join, the offer letter stated that they expect a minimum of 24 months commitment to the organization. If I resign for a reason not acceptable to management, I will not be provided with any experience certificate. I objected to this, and the HR said it is policy, but many people leave after 1 year of service and they don't have a problem with that. As I had no option, I signed it.

Planning to Leave Early

I plan to leave even before a year, like after 6 months, as the projects they're working on are almost useless and not worthy. After I submit my resignation, I intend to serve the complete notice period. However, do companies accept and give me an experience certificate if I agree to complete the notice period and pay damage claims, such as a salary of 2 months? Or might they ask for amounts like 1 lakh?

Concerns About the Future

Where is this heading? I'm concerned about the future.

I would like to know whether the poster signed any bond to serve the organization for a minimum of 24 months. Mere expectation of the party mentioned in his offer cannot be a term of the contract.
