Are directors or managing directors of a company considered employees under the Employees' Compensation Act 2010, given that they are regarded as employees under the ESIC Act?

Coverage Under the Employees' Compensation Act of 1923

The coverage as per the Employees' Compensation Act of 1923 is limited to the list of persons included in Schedule II of the Act. The ESI Act and EC Act apply alternatively; where the ESI Act applies, the EC Act is automatically excluded.
