Employee Retiring at 58: How Do We Handle His PF and Pension While Keeping Him On?

hanu-rao
Dear All, One of our employees is completing his 58 years and retiring from the services, but due to our work urgency, we want to continue him in our company. Can anybody please guide how to proceed further with his PF and Pension? Do we have to apply for his pension or what to do?

Yes, he can apply for the pension. Also, clarify whether he has been reappointed into the services or if there has been no break in service. If there has been no break in service, then you have to deposit his PF with no pension contribution.

No break in service. Can he apply for a pension? Without a pension, can he continue in services by depositing the entire amount in PF?

Yes, he can apply for his pension, update his Date of Exit (DOE) in the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS), and check if the nomination has been filled out by the member.

Yes, the entire amount can be deposited in his Provident Fund (PF) account.

One of my employees worked at another company for up to 10 years. He has a scheme certificate and is now 50 years old. There was a 3-year gap during which he did not have a UAN number. Before 2015, the old company provided a Pension Certificate to him. Now, he has joined our company, and we need to link a new UAN number.

Submission of Old Company's Scheme Certificate

My question is, can we submit the old company's scheme certificate to the PF office? Are any document attachments required? Kindly provide instructions to me.

Regards, Harish
