Payroll Puzzle: Is It Normal to Have 33 Days in a Month's Attendance?

nasn2000
Dear All,

Good morning. I have recently joined a company in Chennai as an HR professional. The company is involved in chemical manufacturing and has operations spread across India. I have been familiarizing myself with the payroll process. In reviewing the January 2021 payroll attendance, I noticed that one of the units shows 33 days (Present-day 27, Weekly Holiday 4, and National Holiday 2). The attendance closure period is from the 26th to the 25th of the following month.

Question about Payroll Days

My question is: Is it permissible to have 33 days accounted for in the payroll under these circumstances? Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that any overtime (OT) is being handled separately.

Thank you.

There is something grossly wrong with the payroll attendance data. When the attendance is from December 26th to January 25th, how come there are two national holidays? Please correct the information and then revert.

It has to be 26 present days, 4 weekly offs, and 1 national holiday.

There is nothing wrong with mentioning the month's attendance days as 31 + 1 or 2 PH, as the case may be.

Thanks and Regards,
