PF Remittance Date Query

The actual date of joining the establishment for an employee is January 2020, but we received an individual establishment code for PF in December 2020. This means that the number of employees reached 20 by December 2020. PF can be remitted from the actual date of joining the establishment or from the date of coverage of the establishment. Experts, please provide your insights.

Understanding Individual Establishment Code

Individual establishment code means what? It can either refer to the UAN registration date or the establishment registration date. Could you please rephrase the query?

EPF Contribution Details

EPF contribution will be deducted from the employee's salary and will be paid along with the employer's contribution effective from the establishment registration date.

Thank you, sir. One more clarification to get it clear.

At the time of enrollment, the actual date of joining has been entered, and a UAN number has been generated for some employees. Also, the PF contribution has been deducted from their monthly salary from the actual date of joining. In this case, is there any possibility to remit the contribution, or does the amount have to be refunded to the employees?

Ensuring Employees Join EPF Before Establishment Registration

How can an establishment ensure their employees join the EPF before the establishment's registration? The Date of Joining (DOJ) in EPF would be the month in which the establishment is covered. If any mistakes are made, the department will not be able to reconcile the members' funds. Ultimately, this could lead to employees facing significant troubles when they withdraw their EPF funds.
