In the Telangana Factories Act, if an employee, exempted from ESI limits, requires treatment and quarantine due to Covid-19, would this be considered as paid leave or loss of pay?
The Telangana Factories Act does not prescribe special leave for Covid-19. It is up to the company management to decide on sanctioning Covid-19 leave. Since Covid-19 was declared a pandemic, it is suggested that employees affected by Covid-19 may be given paid leave for treatment and quarantine periods.
