Maternity Leave Attendance Marking

If an employee is on maternity leave, what should be marked in the attendance register - Absent, LWP (Leave Without Pay), or LOP (Leave on Loss of Pay)? Kindly suggest in this regard.

Adjusting Incorrect Attendance Payments

If an employee was paid one day extra or less for a particular month due to incorrect attendance, how should this be recorded in the attendance register if the adjustment is to be made in the following month's salary? What steps should be taken in the attendance and salary sheets?

Thank you.

Maternity Leave in the Attendance Register

1. You can indicate it as ML (Maternity Leave) in the Attendance Register. It cannot be marked as absent, LWP, or LOP. If the employee is covered under the ESI Scheme, record it as ESI Leave.

Handling Salary Adjustments

2. The reflection of excess/underpayment shall not be shown in the attendance register. Regarding the salary sheet, you can display a pay factor for salary adjustments with +/- signs.
