We are rigorously following the Equal Employment Opportunity Act in our company. I am hiring for a particular job profile wherein I require only a female candidate. Am I violating the law?

However, there is a constitutional provision for the Right to Equality, which prohibits discrimination on grounds such as sex by the State Administration. Therefore, depending on work suitability, if you are limiting the choice to female candidates, it will not be violative of Indian laws.
