How Can I Effectively Research Training and Development's Impact in Insurance Companies?

I am doing a project on the "Importance of Training and Development in Insurance companies, and the impact of T&D on the performance of the staff." I am a bit lost now on how to conduct this research. If anyone has any answers on how to go about this topic, do help me out.

You may go about with your research using the following steps:

1. Understanding the type of people required for the job i.e. skill sets, qualifications, etc.
2. Are the required skills readily available in the market? If not, then how to equip the personnel with that knowledge (the importance of training comes in here).
3. The frequency of upgrading staff on the changes in this domain also has to be understood.
4. Insurance is a highly target-driven industry. You can identify the problem areas in the performance of the personnel.
5. Once this is identified, you can address the problem areas. Training and development will definitely be one of the solutions. Here lies the impact of training and development on staff performance.
