Balancing Work and Rest: How Many Holidays Should a Mumbai IT/BPO Firm Offer?

Please share your inputs. How many minimum holidays should be given? Our consultant has advised 8 holidays (4 mandatory holidays and 4 public holidays). If some of the compulsory holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday, we still need to maintain the total of 8 holidays. We are a Mumbai-based IT and BPO company operating 5 days a week.

Our management is not ready to give more than 8 holidays. Management said we can add a maximum of one or two holidays, but that is again on weekends. We are working only 5 days a week. Guide me, please.
