Struggling with Late Salaries Due to Client Delays: How Can I Resolve This Issue?

pravin-ghorpade1
I am working as a System Support Engineer at XXX International Private Ltd since October 2019. Since I joined this company, I have never received my salary on time. Sometimes, I receive my salary after 3 to 4 months, and vice versa. I work at the client side, which is a government organization named the "Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission." The client never pays bills on time, so our company also delays my salary.

What should I do?

When I asked the client to pay bills on time so that I can receive my salary promptly, they responded that it is my company's responsibility to pay my salary on time. When I approached my company's HR, I was informed that the client has not paid bills on time, resulting in a delay of 2 to 4 months in receiving my salary.

In this situation, what should I do?

The Challenge of Delayed Payments for Contractor Personnel

This is the practical situation many contractor personnel are facing, as government offices are never prompt in making payments to the contractor. The contractor, in turn, delays the salary. Although there is no back-to-back arrangement (meaning contractor personnel will be paid as and when the contractor is paid), the contractor delays payment so that the contractor personnel exert pressure on the client department, and the payment to them gets expedited. The practical solution lies in getting the payments expedited from the government office.
