How to Decline an Offer from Company A

I signed a bond with Company A for a significant amount through a cheque. Now, I have an opportunity with Company B, which offers 80% more salary than Company A. I have one month before I am supposed to join Company A. Can anyone advise me on how to decline the offer from Company A?

Bond Restrictions and Employee Mobility

A bond cannot be restricted beyond limits. If your company provides you with special training incurring expenses, in such cases, a minimum period can be specified for the employee to work and add value. Beyond that, the mobility of labor cannot be blocked. As learned member Umakanthan has mentioned, provide specific details of the training bond and employment conditions to receive suitable answers.

Thank you for replying. I would like to inform you that in my bond, it is mentioned that the bond will start after joining. Therefore, I would like to ask if they can withdraw money or sue me in court if I leave the job before joining.

Dear colleague, it appears you have accepted an offer of employment with a condition of a bond, which applies only after you have joined. You have stated that you have not joined yet. So legally, you have not become an 'employee' yet. Since you have received another lucrative job offer, you intend to decline the first offer. I don't see any legal hassle if you decline, though it will certainly cause inconvenience to company A and reflect poorly on your approach.

Understanding Bond Terms

What a foolish and rubbish question you ask. If there is a mention that the condition applies when you join, if you do not join, all legality of the company is null and void. Who dares to punish or penalize you if you do not join the company?

I know the company cannot sue me; that's why I asked here to confirm that. And now, my doubt is clear. Thanks for the answers! 珞
