Can anyone please suggest whether we can employ a person who is 77 years old and keep them on the payroll? What are the statutory implications such as PF and ESI?

Thank you

Employing a 77-Year-Old and Statutory Implications

You can employ him, and check whether he remains a member of EPFO. If so, continue the membership. However, if the wages being paid to him are above the statutory limit, there is no need to comply with PF & ESI. In the case of continuation in the PF Scheme, the entire contribution will go to PF, and there is no Pension Scheme contribution to be remitted.
