Worried About TCS Offer? What Happens if Background Check Fails Due to Address Error?

Hi, I got an offer from TCS and unknowingly provided the same address for both my permanent and current residence. However, I vacated that house due to the lockdown. When I checked with HR, they said we can't change the address once the BGC is initiated. I am worried that if the BGC check fails, will TCS cancel my offer or provide any alternatives?

I think the response from the HR of the prospective employer seems incorrect and simply exhibits a callous attitude. A residential or permanent address can be the same, and it can be changed at any time according to an individual's relocation necessitated by circumstances. It has nothing to do with the background check, especially for private employment. You should just inform them of the change in your address in writing.

Thank you for your quick response. However, the background verification (BGV) is handled by a third party. Will a failed address verification really affect the offer cancellation? Does TCS handle that? Also, if there is an address change, will it cause a delay in the BGV process?

Even then, if Background Verification (BGV) personnel arrive at the old address, someone might inform them that the person has vacated due to the lockdown. As a precautionary measure, it is advisable to inform the previous owner about the likely verification check. Next time, please be more careful and review the document before sending it. Mistakes can be avoided right from the beginning.
