New HR in Retail: What Policies Should I Create and Which Holidays Apply?

Hi all, recently, I have joined a retail company as an HR. Could anybody suggest which HR policies I should formulate in the organization and in stores? Also, which national holidays are applicable in the retail sector?

Please refer to your State National and Festival Holidays Act or, in its absence, the State Shops and Establishments Act applicable to your retail stores. In case of branches in more than one state, similar provisions of the other states' Acts should also be taken into consideration while determining the overall policy of NFH for your employees.

In terms of scale and conditions for the grant of NFH, your policy should not be less favorable than the statutory provisions in this regard.
