Due to the Covid-19 situation, management decided and informed us on 23rd October to reduce the team and asked us to leave by 30th October due to financial stress in the company; otherwise, the institute would terminate me. With this stress, I was interviewed by a well-known brand on 26th October and was selected. They were looking for immediate joiners, and I, being honest, informed them of the same reason that my current company had informed me about. They took my interview, and after some negotiation, they agreed to offer me the same salary as they don't have a budget for the profile.
When I negotiated for my salary, they strictly gave me the joining date of 2nd November. Now, when I fought for my rights from my current company regarding a 1-month notice period, they accepted it. I fought for this period as the location is very far, and I want a Diwali vacation as well. I also knew that they are hiring many, and the process will continue. However, it's all about asking them for an extension for joining. What reasons should I provide for an extension? One reason could be that I will be completing my 1 year on 26.11.2020, which is a fact. Thus, demanding a notice period was necessary so that I can receive a 1-year experience letter. Or some other reason...!
