Am I Eligible for Maternity Leave If I Joined the Company in January 2020?

I joined the company on January 15, 2020, and I have been pregnant since August 21, 2020. My expected date of delivery is May 30, 2021. Am I eligible to avail the benefit of maternity leave?

What's your company's policy regarding eligibility for benefits under the MB Act, 1961? If your company is a shop or establishment with a total of 10 or more employees currently or in the past, you are eligible. In any other case, such as a factory, you are eligible regardless of the total number of employees.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, promptly notify your employer in writing about your pregnancy along with a doctor’s certificate.
