We usually have our weekly off on a Sunday with wages paid for the weekly off day. If a worker was given a layoff on Saturday and Monday, then what should be the wage that has to be paid on Sunday, the weekly off day? Layoff wages or full wages?
The poster may refer to Sec. 25-C of the IDA, 1947. Whether the lay-off is continuous or intermittent, no compensation is provided for weekly holidays.
