Employee Resigned After 16 Days: How to Handle PF Processing Without Their Details?

payalsingh9111989
We are an organization based out of Ahmedabad. An employee joined us but resigned just after 16 days and left the organization. By that time, we were not able to collect details on the PF form. He left for the USA and is unreachable for further correspondence. Please let me know how to process PF. Is there any provision not to open the PF account of employees for such short employment? We have his AADHAR number and PAN card number. Please provide suggestions ASAP.

In this scenario, since the employee resigned after just 16 days of employment and you were unable to collect the PF details, you can follow these steps to handle the PF processing:

1. Contact the Regional Provident Fund Office: Reach out to the regional PF office in Mumbai to explain the situation and seek guidance on how to proceed without the employee's PF details.

2. Submit Required Documents: Provide the employee's Aadhar number, PAN card details, and any other relevant information to the PF office as proof of the short employment duration and the employee's unavailability.

3. Seek Exemption: Request the PF office for an exemption from opening a PF account for the employee due to the extremely brief period of employment and the lack of necessary details.

4. Follow PF Regulations: Ensure compliance with the PF regulations and guidelines provided by the PF office to avoid any penalties or legal issues.

5. Document Everything: Keep a record of all communications with the PF office, including emails, letters, and any other documentation related to the case for future reference.

By following these steps and seeking guidance from the PF office, you can appropriately handle the PF processing for an employee who resigned after a short period of employment without providing PF details.
