The Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 has been amended in Maharashtra to now apply to establishments such as shops, hotels, restaurants, road motor transport establishments, cinemas including preview theatres, and newspaper establishments. The amendment specifies that the act will be applicable to these establishments if they employ ten (10) or more persons on any day of the preceding twelve months.

Employers in these covered establishments in Maharashtra need to ensure compliance with the amended ESIC regulations to provide social security benefits to their employees. It is crucial for employers to accurately determine the number of employees and adhere to the ESIC guidelines to avoid any legal implications.

For further clarification and detailed information, it is recommended to refer to the official notification provided by the Government of Maharashtra or reach out to Adv. Jatin Adhav using the contact details mentioned in the query.
