Nonpayment of Salary After Resignation: How Can My Friend Recover His Dues?

My friend worked in an organization as a Senior Manager, and he was not receiving his monthly salary for more than 6 months (pending since January 2020). He resigned from his position a month ago and submitted all clearance papers. Despite repeated requests, the management has not taken any action to pay his dues. In this circumstance, what is the best way to approach the recovery of his dues? Kindly suggest and advise.

Dear Siba, if the allegations of non-payment of salary for more than six months, even after the employee's formal resignation, are true, certainly the employer deserves to be taken to task. Let your friend send a legal notice to the ex-employer to comply with the terms of the contract of employment forthwith. If he fails, let him file a civil suit for breach of the contract and claim damages with interest and cost.
