Navigating PF Forms: What Should First-Time and Experienced Employees Fill Out?

Hi, I have two questions.

1. An employee joined an organization, and this is his first job at the age of 21. Which PF form does he need to fill out to get registered for PF and pension as well?

2. An employee joined an organization, and this is his third job in his life. Which PF form should he fill out to get a PF number?

EPFO Online Operations

EPFO operates online. All employers and employees are supposed to visit the EPFO website to learn more about it.

Employee Registration Obligation

Regarding employee registration, it is the obligation of the principal employer to get the employee registered for EPF and EPS contributions. The employee needs to submit their Aadhaar card, PAN card, and bank details for KYC at EPFO.

UAN Number and Member Portal

Once the employee is registered, they are allotted a UAN number. With this UAN number, the employee can register on the EPFO member portal and manage activities mentioned there, such as E-nomination filing or any necessary changes that require employer approval.

Transferring EPF Account

If an employee leaves a job and joins another, they can carry forward their EPF account to the present company using the claim transfer tool on the EPF member portal. If they do not have a UAN number, they can use their EPF number to get a UAN allotted.
