Calculation of Salary Deduction for Absenteeism

If we deduct 30% from an employee's basic salary and then he/she is absent, what will be the calculation of the deduction for his absenteeism? Will it be calculated on his basic salary or on the amount after the 30% deduction?

For example, if the salary of an employee is 15,000/- per month, after a 30% deduction, it becomes 10,500/-. If he then is absent for 1 day, would his net salary be 10,000/- or 10,150/-?

The deduction has to be in proportion to the Basic Pay earned. From Rs. 15,000 per month, the basic pay is reduced to Rs. 10,500. So, for all calculation purposes, the current Basic Pay is to be reckoned.
