In the case of compensation for a death claim under EPF, a query was raised about the duration of the non-contribution period of the deceased. What does this mean?

It appears to be the period in which no contribution was made, perhaps due to absence or leave without pay when the earnings were nil. Though it does not affect the EDLI eligibility if he remained a member of the EPF Scheme on the date of death of the employee, the amount of insurance would be 30 times the average monthly salary of the employee, subject to a maximum of Rs 6 lakh.
