An employee retired from service due to superannuation in the year 1998 with EPS pension commutation. Now, he has reached 72 years. Is there any provision to get a higher amount of pension at this age?

My query is on the commutation and restoration of EPS. An employee retired from service due to superannuation in the year 1998 with EPS pension commutation. Is he eligible to get a higher amount of pension as part of the restoration of EPS? Does he get any arrears in this regard?

Restoration of Full Pension for EPS Members

The Central Board of Trustees of EPFO, in a meeting on August 21, 2019, approved the proposal to restore the full monthly pension for EPS members who availed commuted pension. “In a major decision, the Central Board of Trustees (EPFO's apex decision-making body), in a meeting held at Hyderabad on August 21, 2019, approved a proposal to recommend an amendment in EPS-95 for the restoration of the commuted value of pension to pensioners after 15 years of drawing commutation, which will benefit about 6.3 lakh pensioners.
