Why Do Employees Really Quit? HR Students Seek Your Insights for Dissertation

Bhavna
Hi,

I am an HR student doing a dissertation on the topic "Why Employees Leave Organizations?". I have prepared a questionnaire to understand why employees generally quit their jobs. Additionally, I am exploring the perspectives of HR professionals on the reasons behind employee turnover. I kindly request all of you to complete the questionnaire attached to this message. Please also specify the industry you belong to (e.g., IT, BPO, Manufacturing, etc.). If you need any assistance or have any queries, please email me at bhavna_notani01@yahoo.co.in.

Thank you.

Employee Leaves the organization based on only two major factors.

1. Performance Appraisals (Preference 1):
Employees always need to be compensated according to their performance. If they are not rewarded with incentives, increments, and bonuses, they will not stay in the company anymore.

2. Training and Development (Preference 2):
On the other side, some employees make their decision to stay in the company based on Training and Development. With training opportunities, they can perform better in their jobs and they need to see career development growth within the company. If either of these factors is missing, employees bid goodbye to the company.

Hi Friends,

Even as I am working on a project about why people leave managers and not companies, can anyone help me out with some project details or a questionnaire?

Dear Friend,

There are many reasons people leave organizations. Here are a few:

1. Their qualifications/experience do not commensurate with the job they are doing.
2. Better remuneration.
3. Limited growth opportunities (this, he/she comes to know after joining the company only).
4. Better work environment and culture.
5. Not used to work pressure and deadlines.
6. Distance factor.
7. Family situation (e.g., father/mother not well, only son to take care, etc.).
8. Health condition.
9. Politics.

If you assess the reasons for people leaving the organization, they can be fitted into any of the above reasons. So, it depends on the company and the individual.
