Confused About EPF Withdrawal? Why Can't I Claim from My First Employer?

I am trying to withdraw my EPF online. I had worked in two organizations in the past, from July 2012 to February 2015 and then from June 2018 to January 2019. Both my service history and details are available in the EPF service history tab. Unfortunately, for the online claim, I am not getting an option to claim the EPF from the first employer; however, in my passbook, the amount shows as credit. I am only allowed to take out from my second employer. Any reason why this is happening?

Possible Reasons for EPF Withdrawal Issue

This may be due to two possible reasons:

1. You may not have been exited from the organization yet.
2. Your claim transfer has not been initiated.

You have to transfer the first EPF account amount to your present (second) EPF account. After the transfer, the amount will be added to your second account, and then you will be able to claim.
