Zones in Maharashtra Classified by the Ministry of Labour
Zones in Maharashtra classified by the Ministry of Labour are as follows:
Zone I
Comprises the area falling within the limits of all 'A' and 'B' class Municipal Corporations.
Zone II
Comprises the areas falling within the limits of all 'C' and 'D' class Municipal Corporations, 'A' class of Municipal Councils, and Cantonment areas.
Zone III
Comprises all other areas in the state, which are not included in Zone I and Zone II.
Classification of A, B, C, D
The classification of A, B, C, D is as follows:
Group A
Includes developed areas, namely the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR).
Group B
Includes areas where some development has taken place.
Group C
Includes areas that are less developed than those in Group B.
Group D
Includes the lesser-developed areas of the State not covered under Group A, Group B, or Group C.
Group D+
Includes those least developed areas not covered under Group A, Group B, Group C, or Group D.
Bhiwandi Vadpe Gram Panchayat area may fall under Zone III, but you are advised to verify it with the surrounding people.
