I hope you are all are doing good !

One of friend who is working in an IT Company has been terminated without prior notice. She had informed her company 4 months well in advance and was continuously following up for the approval for her Maternity leave and discussion related to the policy. Her Company's HR just reverted with a reply that they will update her and in this way 4 months passed. When she re-informed that as infomered earlier I wish to go on Maternity leave from requested date which was near now (As her delivery time was close) her company replied that she is being terminated as the project on which she was working on is closed from the client's end and we are discontinuing your services. When she checked with the client company's HR she got to know that her client company has agreed on her Maternity leave request is approved from their end.

I request you all to please help us with this case with solution. It really urgent as the female employee is expecting soon. We need your help !

P.S : Her company is employed with more than 10 people, also she has completed more than 6 months at her current company.

Action of the company is in violation of the provisions of Maternity Benefits Act.
I do hope intimation of pregnancy was in writing.
It appears that termination has been resorted to by the company to avoid paying maternity benefits,as client has confirmed you that they have no issue with your leave.
Send them a legally drafted letter signed by you drawing attention to facts of the case and laws relating to Maternity.
In case the company is not reacting, you may need to approach Labour commissioner to enforce your statutory rights.
