Share the Best Traits of Your Boss: What Positive Qualities Do They Have?

Hi Everybody,

Most people criticize their boss. But doesn't your boss have anything good in him? Tomorrow you may also become a boss. What would you like your juniors to find about you? A good thing or a bad thing! Let's dig something good in our boss.

So, I am starting a new topic where everybody can tell something very good about their boss. This will go on for a month or so. After that, I will compile all responses and post an article - What makes a good boss? So all bosses can read it and try to implement as much as possible. To begin with:

My boss hates micromanaging. He gives an assignment to me and waits for me to finish it (does not keep irritating me by forcing deadlines). If he likes it, he praises it. If he doesn't like it, he discusses it with me and guides me to improve it. His insight is useful. That's one of the good things about my boss!

My boss keeps on learning and updating himself all the time. If he does not know something, he admits it and asks for solutions.

My previous employer, the boss (VP - HR- Tebma), has a very poor character. I have never seen such a character before. We cannot find any good traits in him. He is arrogant and gives a lot of harsh criticism; that's why I left that job. Now, I have a good boss who is genuine and encourages me.

I guess people are not so much in favor of the subject! 😉 Think the opposite one will work. But nevertheless, you pointed out the right thing, that someday we will also become the boss. I have been working in my present position for the last 6 months only. I can write mostly bad things about my boss as usual, 😅 but after a little thought, I have come up with a good thing he does: Whenever I don't bring lunch, he willingly shares his lunch with me. 😂 This is true.

Apart from this, I would like to share another thing. Whenever he is under stress, he prefers to indirectly ask me for a solution. So I feel good at that time.

My boss is a very nice person. He is so friendly and helps his subordinates whenever they get stuck with their work. He gets angry easily, but his anger is only due to our silly mistakes. We are really lucky to have him as our boss.

My boss is really nice. He is very experienced and helpful, and whenever it is time for decision-making, he always invites suggestions and also implements the same provided the suggestion is wise. He also gives full authority and trusts his employees. We stay like a family because our boss has knitted us all in one thread. He is just a fantastic person and an ideal boss one can have. I respect him a lot.

If everybody can also write the name of their organization/name of the boss, we can make a list of really good bosses in India.

1. I like her management skills.
2. She is not a boss; rather, she is one of the team members.
3. She is not arrogant.
4. She is supportive.
5. She has no favorite employees; she treats everyone equally.
6. She is a role model for all the employees.
7. Employees like her presence in the office (in most cases, employees hate their boss's presence).

The list goes on and on... Overall, she is a GOOD BOSS.

Boss is always a boss. Extraction of heavy work till the last drop of blood gets clotted from the employee. Do not think about employee's comfortability. Think of employees like slaves. Analyzing capacity will be less. Always, all decisions related to the employees will not be right. But he teaches lots of lessons. We gain experiences in all aspects of life. With these difficulties, we can easily cross the hurdles we are facing in life.

Boss is a good teacher, guide, mentor, master. When he needs our service, he will praise us a lot. If not, he will throw us away. A peaceful life is more important than money. Most of the bosses will be of this nature. If we go to that place, we should not be like the boss whom we are having. Of course, good bosses are also living in the same world. Hats off to those excellent bosses. Only all the negative things come to my mind. But one thing I have to say.

The boss is a perfectionist, hardworking personality. He can work for 16-18 hours a day, is a good learner, and will update his technical knowledge.

My boss is a very good person. Even though I am an ignorant and lazy person, she always makes me feel conscientious about my job and responsibilities. Despite being the director of the company, she acts like a normal employee in the organization. In conclusion, my boss is very simple.

My Boss!

She is a very dynamic lady with a vast amount of knowledge in her field. She always supports me in whatever I do, tries to further improve the same by her suggestions, and always provides necessary handholding and support. She is very understanding and always adjusts as per needs.

I have come across 4 bosses in my career, out of which the 3rd boss was the worst. I learned many ethics from all my bosses, though the 3rd boss was the worst, I learned some good things from him too, especially the management skills (i.e. how bad management affects employees). By this way, when I become a boss, I shall avoid those things and be a good boss rather than the worst. :)

The comments I had given about my boss are not only the character of the current employer but a mixture of all the good bosses I met.

My boss's name is Venkata Raman. As one of our friends told us, he also treats us very friendly. We too feel like one family.

My last boss, V.P., was a very good person. Mr. Anurag was the best guide, philosopher, friend, best teacher, and best manager I have ever seen. He had everything in his mind, every detail planned, and he treated everyone, whether a peon or a manager, with respect. I learned everything from him - management skills, HR skills, how to convince people, how to help others as an HR, how to motivate a team, and how to work in a team. I am still in touch with him and will never forget whatever he has taught me.

Secondly, he is my present manager, Mr. Rahul, to whom I report. Working with him feels like we are part of a team. He makes me feel comfortable and independent, without any pressure or tension, even though I complete my work on time. He makes everyone working with him feel at ease.

Both of them are amazing bosses that I have worked with.

I think a good boss should be someone you can look up to, someone whose experience (which would typically be more than yours) should benefit you. Their insights and suggestions should be substantial enough to provide you with concrete tips in life. An excellent team player who gives you enough space (does not "boss" around) and is reasonable is ideal. My boss embodies all of these traits, and I am pretty fortunate to have him as my guide, especially in my first job.

Good topic. I would like to appreciate all bosses, whether good or bad. The nature of a boss depends on the way we think because a good boss motivates and boosts your confidence. Sometimes, a bad boss criticizes and gives you the challenge to use your potential to develop yourself.

My boss is short-tempered and requires perfect results within a short timespan. However, by taking my frustration positively, after some time, I found that I am developing new skills because of her nature. It might be considered as negative motivation.

What I believe is that a boss is also a human being like an employee. We should have empathy for them.

1. He has been a good-humored person and has a pretty good knowledge of the subject and the practical execution of the same.

I am working in Firstsource, Trichy. My boss "Bala" is really superb. He is kind-hearted and open-minded to criticism. He always gives a beautiful smile and advice. No one is perfect; he too has his few minus points. It's okay. Overall, he is a good boss who helps others learn from his actions.
