Is the PF Rate Reduction to 10% Really Optional? Let's Discuss What It Means for Us

Dear All,

We know that the Government has announced that the PF rate will be 10% for 3 months. I had a doubt that the reduction may not be compulsory. I have written a letter to senior officials (you can see). In the FAQ (point Number 12), it is mentioned that both the employer and employee can pay higher.

Is it required to submit the joint declaration form to the PF office in case we go with a 12% contribution?
