On 12th March (as per 30 DAYS), I submitted my resignation because I received a new offer from another company. Due to the lockdown, I continued working from home in my current company. On May 7th, I received a call from the new company asking me to join on 20th May. However, the company is now refusing to provide a Relieving Letter online, even though they had already accepted my resignation and my work was completed. I have already informed my reporting boss about this issue. My current company has informed me that they will only provide the Relieving Letter after the lockdown ends.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, you are likely in a safe zone regarding the cited issue. You can inform your prospective employer of the feedback given by your current employer. Check with them whether you will be permitted to join by giving an undertaking or declaration that you will submit your relieving letter as soon as you receive it after the lockdown period is lifted. Alternatively, you can insist on a resignation acceptance letter from your current employer and submit it to your new employer.
