Basic condition for entitlement to gratuity is 5 years continuous service.
With your 3 year gap, continuity is broken.
Entitlement to gratuity does not arise in this case.

As per the Payment of Gratuity Act, If an Employee relives from the organisation the service will be break. While rejoining the service will be started again. In this case for that 3 year gratuity will not be applicable.
