Navigating Job Transition: Should I Tell My New Employer About My Short Stint?

I recently joined a company about three weeks ago and realized that the role they discussed with me is absolutely not what is expected of me now. I have 15 years of experience in the industry, and I really understand what it would mean to continue in this organization. I have discussed this with my manager, and he said that the digital initiatives are still at a very nascent stage and will take at least one year to be ready. He has asked me to do other tasks in the meantime. This is extremely frustrating. I have another offer, and I intend to join them. I will be resigning officially, but I don't know whether they will release me or not.

Concerns About Transitioning to a New Job

1. Will I face any issues if I join the other organization without a proper release from this present organization?

2. Should I disclose this short stint to the next employer? I do not intend to show this in my CV at any point.

3. Since the UAN will not be updated by this company, will I face any issues during salary processing?

4. Is there any way my next company will know about this short stint of mine in this present organization?

Addressing Role Misalignment Professionally

Tackle this issue in a nice and smart way. Speak to the management and tell them that your role is not commensurate with your skills. Being away from your main job, for which you are skilled, can make you lose the cutting edge of your profession.

Put this to your company in this perspective and seek an exit on honorable terms. Analyze the worst-case scenario if they are not amenable and you have to quit without papers. That depends on the duration of work with the present company and how big a gap in the CV will be there.

Considerations for Exiting the Current Job

UAN, transfer of PPF to the current employer, ESIC, etc., need to be considered. If your stint is very short, then evaluate things from your perspective and then act after you confirm that the company is not ready to give you a decent exit.
