Is a Distance MBA in HR Worth It? Seeking Advice on Job Prospects in Reputed Companies

Sabari balaji
Dear seniors,

I have been working in the textiles field as an HR assistant for the past 3 years. Now, I am going to pursue my MBA in HR through distance education. I am wondering if this will hold any value. Will I be able to secure jobs in reputed companies, or will I face rejection? Please clarify my doubts.

Thank you.

Correspondence MBA has low value (in my personal opinion). It would be better if you could join an evening college and pursue a regular MBA. Chennai will offer many such opportunities. Look around and try to attend evening classes.

The Importance of Classroom Attendance in MBA Programs

Yes, like other courses, receiving study material and reproducing it in exams may help you pass and obtain an MBA degree, but it will not serve the purpose. If you cannot join a full-time course, attend part-time and write exams. For courses like an MBA, classroom attendance is a must, where a lot of case studies are discussed, and participants (students) need to make presentations as well. You need to prepare project reports, theses, etc. These are all not available in a distance learning program.
