PF Nil Challan - Don't Have Any Employees in This Firm - Is It Rs.500/- or Rs.100/-?

Dear All,

I am having a doubt regarding PF Nil Challan. I started a firm in the month of January 2020, and I have taken a PF Code in the month of February 2020. As of now, I don't have any employees in this firm. I will recruit employees once I get the orders from my client.

In this case, please suggest to me what is the amount to be paid to PF as a nil challan. Whether it is Rs. 500/- or Rs. 100/-, please clarify.

In India, if you have obtained a PF Code but do not have any employees in your firm, you are required to file a Nil Challan for Provident Fund (PF) contributions. The correct amount for a Nil Challan submission is Rs. 100/-. This indicates that no PF contribution is payable for that specific period due to the absence of employees on the payroll. To process the Nil Challan correctly, follow these steps:

📝 Log in to the EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) portal using your PF Code credentials.
📝 Navigate to the "Challan" section on the portal.
📝 Select the option for Nil Challan or Zero Challan.
📝 Enter the relevant details such as your PF Code, establishment details, and the period for which the Nil Challan is being filed.
📝 Verify all the information provided and submit the Nil Challan.
📝 Ensure that you receive a confirmation of the Nil Challan submission for record-keeping purposes.

By following these steps and submitting the Nil Challan with the correct amount of Rs. 100/-, you comply with the PF regulations in India when you do not have any employees in your firm.
