Struggling with PF Account Closure Due to Exit Date Confusion: How Can We Resolve This?

Dear Sir/Madam, I have an issue with one of my employees. He joined in November 2016 and was relieved on January 3, 2018. We paid the PF & ESI contributions for him in February 2018. However, he joined a new organization on January 5, 2018, and was relieved from that company in November 2019. The new company also made their contribution in December 2019.

Problem with PF Account Closure

The problem is that he is currently unable to close his PF account and claim his funds. Both his previous and last companies made their contributions in February 2018. Additionally, he was relieved from his previous company on January 3, 2018, and joined the new company on January 5, 2018.

Difficulties in Withdrawing PF Amount

He is facing difficulties withdrawing the PF amount, the previous company's pension contribution, and the last company's contribution. The working dates for the previous company were from November 21, 2016, to January 31, 2018, with an issue regarding the date of exit (03.01.2018) not matching the relieving date. For the last company, the working dates were from January 20, 2018, to November 25, 2019, with a joining date of January 5, 2018, and a relieving date of November 25, 2019.

I kindly request an exact solution to resolve this issue.

Please check if you can correct his/her date of exit through the employer portal and make it 03.01.2018. If not, then you can submit a join declaration form to the respective PF department. Similarly, the last employer can correct his/her date of joining.
